Jobs at Kidderminster and Coventry’s Liberty Aluminium Technologies foundry saved

After Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) stepped in, the Liberty Aluminium Technologies foundries in Kidderminster and Coventry saved a total of 170 jobs.

Sanjeev Gupta's GFG alliance sold factories manufacturing aluminum parts and an important part of the JLR supply chain.

According to the “Guardian” report, the Coventry-based automotive supplier buyer Evtec will take over the Liberty Aluminium Technologies foundry.

It is understood that Evtec has paid more than £10 million for two locations in Forge House, which are located in Stourport Rd, Kidderminster and Chelmarsh in Coventry.

Since Greensill Capital, the main lender of GFG, went bankrupt in March, the company has been restructuring and facilitated the latest sale with the help of JLR.

GFG is closing a factory in Witham, Essex, which will result in the loss of 64 jobs. It is also considering selling assets and responding to potential criminal investigations in the UK and France.

Business tycoon Gupta and his Liberty House Group acquired the Amtek Group in July 2017, which owned aluminum foundries in Kidderminster, Coventry and Withham, and ceased management in July 2017-at that time Saved 60 jobs at the Kidderminster plant.
