Mitchell Tenpenny, whose career has been on the upswing since 2018, releases "This Is The Heavy," via Riser House/Columbia Nashville/Sony Music Nashville. The set includes "Losers," which wrote about his meeting fellow singer Megan Patrick, to whom he is now engaged. Tenpenny helped write every song on the new disc, which contains 20 songs and clocks in at just under one hour.

Husband-and-wife duo Kat and Alex release a seven-song EP today, "Side A." Growing up, Kat & Alex recalled seeing 'Lado A' and 'Lado B' ("Side A" and "Side B") on their parents' records. The duo also released an entirely Spanish version as well. "Lado B" is out Sept. 30. Kat & Alex co-wrote every track on the project aside from "Marry You," which was written by label mate Maren Morris along with Busbee.

Arista Records/Monument Records released the second EP for "Monarch," a new drama about America's leading family of country music, featuring music from the show's upcoming second episode coming Tuesday at 9 p.m. on Fox. The set includes "The Card You Gamble," performed by cast members including Anna Friel and Beth Ditto, and a cover of Twain's "Man! I Feel Like A Woman!" performed by the cast. Additional covers of country classics include "Ain't No Sunshine," performed by Callum Kerr, "Love Can Build A Bridge," performed by Faith Bridge and "Photograph," performed by Trace Adkins and Inigo Pascual.

Iron & Wine, aka Sam Beam, gives Lori McKenna tribute, with a four-song EP, "Lori." Recording took place at Sam Phillips Studios in Memphis with producer Matt Ross-Spang, who had previously not only worked with Beam, but also on two of McKenna's own records. Joining them were Sima Cunningham and Macie Stewart, known collectively for their work in the indie-art-pop band Finom (formerly known as Ohmme).

Longstanding bluegrass duo Dailey & Vincent go the country route today with "Let's Sing Some Country." Produced by Paul Worley (Lady A, The Chicks, Trace Adkins), the duo received help from Jimmy Fortune, Vince Gill, Alison Krauss and Rhonda Vincent. Three Gill songs - "Colder Than Winter," "Young Man's Town" and "If I Die Drinkin'" - are covered by Dailey & Vincent.
