When Things Go Wrong at an Aluminum Extrusion Facility - Core77

It's not clear if this event happened as a result of a hack, but industrial facility cybersecurity specialist J.D. Christopher posted this harrowing video of a disaster at an aluminum extrusion facility in Spain:

Extrusion rigs like this use hydraulics to push the billets through the tooling, and it looks like a hydraulic fitting blew, leading to that initial geyser. It's not clear to me how the hydraulic fluid ignited. And once the fire got going, the drop ceiling covering the facility certainly didn't help.

Spanish network CanalSur reports that there were no injuries, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

There's speculation on what went wrong here, and more post-event photos here.
