AC Schnitzer waves its magic wand to give the BMW 2 Series more of everything!

German tuners can be considered to be the wildest in the business because they give equal importance to both performance and visual appeal. But certain cars cannot be elevated in appeal even with a cool mod job.

The current-gen BMW 2 Series is one such vehicle. We have seen German tuners try their hand at making the 2 Series look rad, but so far, it is only the house of Manhart that has managed to do so. But now we have AC Schnitzer in the house who has come up with a rather concise kit for the BMW M240i.

The performance and visual mods on this BMW are subtle, but it still manages to distinguish it from the boring stock car and turn heads. It gets an engine remap, stiffer suspension, and bits-and-pieces of aero appeal to look cool.

While all of this might not sound much, it sure is a welcome refreshment to the lot of M2 fanatics who are restless about the upcoming 2023 BMW M2. But until then, AC Schnitzer's 2 Series kit is enough to bring a smile to a bored BMW M240i owner!

AC Schnitzer waves its magic wand to give the BMW 2 Series more of everything!

AC Schnitzer is known for its ability to bump the performance figures of cars without any major hardware upgrades. And the trend continues for the BMW M240i as well. AC Schnitzer has bumped up the power figures of this 2 Series' turbocharged 3.0-Liter inline-6 motor from 369 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque to 420 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque with most likely just an engine remap.

The mod-job has been done concerning a Euro-spec 2 Series. The US-spec BMW M240i pumps out 382 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. There are no mechanical tweaks whatsoever, and this Bimmer comes packed with an eight-speed automatic transmission. And this mod-job is offered for both the RWD and AWD models.

AC Schnitzer has given a lot of importance to driving dynamics for its 2 Series mod package. The custom house offers an optional stiffer suspension setup that lowered the 2 Series by almost an inch. This helps elevate the cornering abilities of the already nimble M240i. This is coupled with optional 0.5-inch wheel spacers that help add to its stance appeal. Adding to the drama is a stainless steel quad-pipe exhaust system that adds to the grunt.

The new 2 Series has gotten a lot of criticism for its looks, and it is very risky to play around with the exterior. But AC Schnitzer went bold here and has given the BMW 2 Series a rather subtle yet impactful aerodynamic bodykit. The front fascia gets a splitter which tires to give it a more aggressive stance. This is a bolt-on fit for the M bumper that the 2 Series gets.

But the more interesting bits are on the rear fascia with a split mid-spoiler on the trunk. Ac Schnitzer also offers a top spoiler that gets painted in the body color. The quad exhaust tips get garlanded with carbon fiber finishers that add more drama to the rear fascia. The rear also gets a practical mod job with the trunk opening protection foil.

All of these bits are blacked out which goes well with a contrasting paint job. Adding to the visual drama further are 20-inch in-house designed wheels (AC1 or AC4) that can be had in either bi-color or Anthracite shades. The AC1 model wheels can also be had in 19-inches. The trunk also gets a cool "ACS24.01" decal to flaunt this Bimmer's custom makeover.

While the majority of modifications are confined to the exterior, AC Schnitzer has also given the BMW 2 Series interior a subtle makeover. The majority of tweaks on the inside come in the form of aluminum components for the pedals and footrest.

The paddler shifters, keyholder, and touchscreen controller can also be swapped with custom-made aluminum parts. Apart from these, the steering wheel is wrapped in custom leather and an Alcantara cover.

This tuning package from AC Schnitzer has been designed keeping the AWD BMW 240i in mind, but can easily be fitted to the RWD models. With minimal modification bits, this Aachen-based tuner house can bring about a notable performance and visual makeover to the questionably designed 2 Series. The whole kit will be available for purchase from August 2022. As for the pricing, AC Schnitzer hasn't disclosed it.
