Amid the cost of living crisis, many people are looking to save money on their energy bills.

Among the tips touted, switching from the oven to an air fryer to cook meals has really caught on, as the devices are more energy-efficient and therefore cheaper to run.

Research by Iceland and Utilita found that an air fryer would cost £52.74 per year to power, while electric and gas cookers cost about £316 and £264 a year respectively. And when you consider that air fryers can make your meals in less time, investing in one is a no-brainer.

There’s just one small problem.

It seems as if everyone else has had the same bright idea, leading to a dearth of air fryers available to purchase.

One Metro.co.uk reader reported being unable to find the Tower Two-Drawer Air Fryer in stock in the shops, only to find the same models being resold on eBay for more than double the RRP.

‘No wonder the shops don’t have any,’ they said.

Before you get trigger happy with the ‘bid’ button in an effort to get your hands on an air fryer, though, it’s worth shopping around so you don’t pay over the odds.

We’ve rounded up some of the top air fryers in stock now across the high street and online. Not only are they all at (or below) the RRP, they’ll have you cooking up a storm without breaking the bank in no time.
