SHANGHAI, Aug 8 (SMM) – The average operating rate of die-casting zinc alloy plants decreased by 3.90 percentage points to 43.91% last week. The inventory of raw materials fell as high zinc prices prevented manufacturers from purchasing. Some manufacturers that had suspended the production resumed the production on and off in order to build finished products stock. However, due to the weak consumption, the operating rates of most manufacturers continued to decline. Specifically, several large manufacturers in east China delayed resuming the production last week; some producers in central China were forced to lower the production due to the accumulation of finished products. In terms of finished product inventory, due to the slow recovery of the real estate market, terminal enterprises such as those engaged in hardware and sanitary ware business were bearish towards the market outlook. This, coupled with high zinc prices, caused the overall orders to shrink, and the finished product inventory of die-casting zinc alloy producers accumulated. The average operating rate of die-casting zinc alloy producers is expected to remain low this week under the impact of weak consumption. PS: Due to the revised inventory data of a large manufacturer, the data of finished product inventory two weeks ago was revised to 12,610 mt with an increase of 5,000 mt.
