The Synchrony series of speakers from PSB feature the T800 and T600 tower or floorstanding models ... [+] and the B600 bookshelf speakers.

To commemorate its 50th anniversary, PSB has launched a new generation of its acclaimed flagship Synchrony Series which is now available globally. The latest edition of the Synchrony series consists of the B600 bookshelf speakers and the T600 and T800 towers.

Last month, I wrote a feature about Paul Barton, the founder of the prestige Canadian speaker brand PSB. It’s been 50 years since Barton founded the company and now it’s part of the Lenbrook Groups, the parent company of NAD and Bluesound.

The T800 Tower is the top model in PSB's flagship range of Synchrony speakers. The range is now ... [+] available globally and commemorate the company's 50th anniversary.

Regarded as PSB’s most advanced speaker line to date, the company claims that its new Synchrony Series delivers outstanding performance, excellent value and carries the finest application of PSB’s ‘True to Nature’ acoustics.

The Synchrony T800 Towers are the largest speakers in the series, with a wider frequency bandwidth and the highest power handling capacity of all the Synchrony speakers. Equipped with a five-way transitional array consisting of three 8" woofers and a 5.25" midrange, all drivers feature cast baskets and woven carbon-fiber cones. A 1" titanium dome tweeter is also included in the heavily braced MDF cabinet. PSB says the T800s can fill large rooms with detailed bass down to the lowest register.

The driver platform dramatically reduces non-linear distortion, enabling higher sound pressure levels without compression or increased THD and IM distortion. This driver placement produces a more open midrange with a deep bass impact. Small gradations in sound, or micro-dynamics, are improved over previous driver platforms. The crossover in the T800 Premium Tower is the most advanced amplitude-perfect Linkwitz-Riley 4th order crossover that PSB Speakers has ever utilized, featuring high-voltage poly film capacitors and oxygen-free interconnect wire.

The driver platform of the T600 consists of three 6.5" woofers and a 5.25" midrange driver, all with cast aluminum baskets, woven carbon fiber cones and rubber surrounds. There’s a 1" titanium dome tweeter with Ferrofluid and Neodymium magnet. The result is a dramatic reduction in non-linear distortion that allows for higher sound pressure levels without compression or increased THD and IM distortion. The advanced driver assembly features four elements (Faraday ring, shorted turn, longer voice coil, symmetrical magnetic drive) that work together to reduce driver distortion.

For those who don't have room for a pair of Synchrony Towers, there are the B600 bookshelf model ... [+] from PSB.

Using the same driver platform as the Synchrony towers, the B600 bookshelf speakers can be used with the towers or as standalone speakers in smaller rooms. The two-way bass reflex design features a 6.5" woofer with cast aluminum basket and woven carbon fiber cone, plus a 1" titanium dome tweeter with Ferrofluid and Neodymium magnet. The woven carbon fiber cone delivers wider bandwidth with about half an octave deeper bass response over other PSB driver designs. It also delivers greater efficiency (88dB at 1m), higher power handling, and lower distortion.

Whether used in a multi-channel set-up or for stereo listening, the Synchrony series feature PSB’s signature ‘True to Nature’ acoustics, marked by tonal accuracy, thrilling dynamics, impactful bass, transparent bass midrange, pinpoint imaging, plus lots of detail. Each speaker is measured, tested and fine-tuned by a team of acoustic specialists under the direction of PSB Founder and Chief Acoustic Designer Paul Barton.

PSB was started half a century ago by Paul Barton. It's now part of the Lenbrook Group.
