Storskogen’s Acquisition of 95% Stake in SF Tooling Group – Global Legal Chronicle

Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advised Storskogen on the deal, while GLNS advised CGS.

Storskogen has acquired a 95% stake in SF Tooling Group GmbH, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of high-pressure die-casting dies and tools for the automotive and aerospace industries, headquartered in Germany. The company employs about 190 FTEs at three locations in Europe, the United States and Asia and generated EUR 40m in turnover last year.

SF Tooling Group manufactures high pressure die casting tools and carbon fibre tools, including for technologically sophisticated light metal parts for vehicle bodies and electro-mobility applications and aerospace industry. With its own operations in Germany, the USA and China, the group supplies customers in the automotive and aerospace industries.

Following its acquisition by CGS in 2014, the company with a major focus on the European market has developed itself into an international group. SF Tooling Group has more than doubled its sales since then.

Storskogen invests in well-managed and profitable SMEs with a leading position in their markets. Founded in 2012, the group is divided into three business divisions, comprising nearly 100 business units with some 7,000 employees at the end of Q3/2021, primarily in Scandinavia, the DACH region, and the UK.

CGS is an investment group based in Pfäffikon, Switzerland. The company specializes in developing medium-sized companies in the industrial environment into international groups.
