SHANGHAI, Sep 5 (SMM) - SMM data shows that the total zinc ingot inventories across seven major markets in China stood at 110,300 mt as of September 5, down 11,400 mt from last Friday and 13,000 mt from last Monday. The arrivals in the Shanghai market increased as some smelters shipped their goods there to ease the tight spot supply. At the same time, thanks to the low zinc prices, downstream and terminal enterprises were willing to restock, thus the overall inventory in Shanghai fell. In Guangdong, the market trades rose this week, and die-casting zinc alloy producers became more active to purchase in the wake of the decline in zinc prices. The inventory in Guangdong diminished slightly with stable arrivals. The inventory in Tianjin also dropped as the arrivals were low while the consumption was robust. Overall, the zinc ingot inventories in Shanghai, Tianjin, and Guangdong dropped 9,900 mt,and that across seven major markets in China were down 11,400 mt.
